Ashok Leyland to Consider Bonus Share Issue After 14 Years on May 23

Ashok Leyland, one of India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, is planning a big move that could benefit its investors significantly. The company has announced that its board of directors will meet on May 23, 2025, to consider the issuance of bonus shares. This would mark the company’s first bonus issue in 14 years — the last one being a 1:1 bonus declared in August 2011.

In the same board meeting, the company will also review and approve the audited financial results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2025.

Adding to the investor excitement, Ashok Leyland declared a second interim dividend of ₹4.25 per equity share on May 17, 2025. Including the earlier interim dividend of ₹2.00 per share, the total dividend payout for FY25 stands at ₹6.25 per share (625%) on a face value of ₹1.

The record date for this dividend has been fixed as May 22, 2025, and the payment is expected to be completed by June 14, 2025.

If the bonus share proposal is approved, it could significantly boost market sentiment and potentially increase trading activity on Ashok Leyland stock.
